To create a quick search in Firefox, just create a bookmark for the search site, and substitute %s for the search term. Then right-click on the bookmark, go to properties, and set the shortcut. For example, giving the following bookmarK:
http://www.horizonward.net/cgi-bin/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebSearch?search=%s&scope=all&web=on
with the shortcut "hwd", would make "hwd recipe" search for the term recipe in all public webs on the Horizonward site when typed into the URL bar in firefox.
